Well, it’s that time again.  Let’s look at last month’s goals, see where we stack up, and then discuss goals for this month.

  1. 40 posts was an ambitious goal, and it really drained my mental energy, I only achieved 32 posts, not what I would like.  The quality of some posts suffered too because of the amount that I was trying to put out.  The goal for September is 20+ posts since I tend to take Saturday and Sunday off and nobody really checks this blog on the weekend (except me for some reason).
  2. Technorati:  I am at 26 as of writing this, surpassing my goal of 20.  My new goal is 30-40 for the end of September.
  3. 100 comments… well, I got a C with 75 non-spam comments.  July had 91 comments, but the percentage that were mine dropped from July to August.  In other words, reader comments have increased.
  4. Guest post.  I’ve put one up and actually received 2 other ones that I would like to include at a later date.
  5. 50% increase in adsense revenue- we stayed the same in August as we were in July
  6. Sit down with guru buddy- hasn’t happened yet, he’s got a ‘real job’ now so he’s busier than he used to be.
  7. Get on the blogroll of several other blogs- Mission accomplished.

So what are my goals for September summarized?

  • 20+ posts- One post every weekday in other words.
  • Technorati 30-40- This comes from writing content people want to link to, so I will strive to create better content.
  • Average 4 comments per post- This is a more realistic goal I feel, and one that will motivate me to write better posts for you.
  • Ignore adsense numbers-  I’m toying with the idea of eliminating adsense all together and just doing paid posts for financial sites, but that seems shady to me.  I still want to earn income from this blog, but I’m not sure how to best do that yet.  What do you think?

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend, it’s back to the ol’ grindstone tomorrow.
